Cal-Therm Insulation was formed in 1974 by Jim Smiles, a veteran of the insulation industry in California. Jim operated the business until 1998 when he handed the firm over to then ‘Project Manger’ - Jim Hensman. Mr. Hensman owned the business until 2011.
In late 2011, Brian Campbell became principal owner of the firm. Brian joined the company in 1986 and had been the Operations Manager since the late 1980’s. Brian began his career in the industrial insulation field in 1968 and has worked on every type of project setting and in several different countries.

Cal-Therm offers Mechanical Insulation
services for systems requiring critical
temperature controls.
We are experts on systems ranging from
-300°F to +2000°F. We understand that
not only is temperature control critical,
but job performance, timing and quality
are essential to our clients.
We are specialists when it comes to plant
shutdown and tight maintenance
schedules.
Products Used
At Cal-Therm we only use materials from
the leading manufacturers that have
been time tested and tried.
Our management team is constantly
networking with our industries leading
manufacturers and keeping informed of
product updates, as well as product
enhancements.
All of our materials are California and EPA
Compliant. For the food industry we use
jacketing systems and sealants that have
USDA approvals.
